Expert in company growth, marketing storytelling and AI systems (CAIM). He doesn’t build robots: he verifies what their makers claim.
I am not a robotics engineer, and this project exists precisely because of that. I am a specialist in company growth, marketing storytelling and AI systems, and that trade taught me to recognize a well-produced demo, a well-told promise and a well-groomed metric. When I started following robotics out of pure fascination, I saw all three everywhere, and almost nobody separating the real from the show.
y8y is my answer: a publication that treats robotics claims the way an analyst treats data. Every claim carries its source, every verdict carries a date, and the method is public in our methodology. When a robot is teleoperated, we say so; when it is real, we celebrate it; and when we get something wrong, the correction happens in the open.
My personal bet is simple: robotics will be one of the biggest industrial stories of the coming decades, and it will need less hype and more verification. This site is my way of telling it the way I believe it should be told: with the people behind the machines at the center, and honesty as the competitive advantage.
